The Original Film
Victory Though Air Power is an often forgotten piece in the Disney animated film cannon. Little wonder since it’s a documentary/propaganda film that holds no relevance to modern audiences. Unless you’re a major history buff. And even then, the film is incredibly dry and presents now out of date information.
But at the time it did help create major changes in the way the war was fought, while also foreshadowing future Disney educational films.
On the music side of things the movie was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Music Score of a Dramatic or Comedy Picture.
I skipped this one in my marathon, for the reasons you give above. However, it lingers at the back of my mind as one to watch at some point.
ReplyDeleteI would recommend seeing at least once, but probably not with your children. They'd either be bored by it or scared by the sometimes violent imagery. (It's not gory or anything, but there are explosions, scenes of graves, and artistic depictions of a very real war)
