Atlantis is one of my favorite Disney films. Easily with in the top 5, and probably the only one that isn’t a musical. The score was composed by James Newton Howard while the one song in the film was written by Diane Warren.

The only One Saturday Morning movie I’ve seen. Though I’m not sure, why since I was never a fan of the original show.

Before The Emperor’s New Groove became everybody’s favorite meme filled film, the movie was titled The Kingdom of Sun and was meant to be a more epic sweeping musical based off of the Prince and the Pauper. Sting had written an entire musical score only to be completely dropped when the movie changed direction into a buddy comedy loosely based of The Emperor’s New Clothes instead.

Tarzan broke away from the traditional Disney musical format by having the majority of the songs sung by the “narrator” of the film. Said narrator was composer and artist Phil Collins, who wrote all of the songs in movie. While the film’s score was written by Mark Mancina.
